My name is Dr. Iwona K. Horelik. I’m a psychologist who works with children and adolescents. I support kids with a variety of struggles, and focus primarily on anxiety and selective mutism. My approach is eclectic, which means that I choose interventions based on the unique needs of each child and family. Especially with younger children, I believe in working closely with parents. I understand the way the school system works and I collaborate with many local professionals.
I’ve worked/trained in many settings, such as a mainstream school, a specialized school for kids with extreme behavioral/psychiatric challenges, a community clinic, and a psychiatric hospital. All of these experiences have helped shape the way I work now, being in private practice full-time.
I take my work very seriously, but I’m also warm, caring, and very sensitive. I’m easy to talk to and appreciate a good sense of humor. On a personal note, I’m a wife and a mom of two teenage boys. I like to draw, and I love trying new foods!
